3 more streets partially close in Toronto for construction

Drivers heading into downtown Toronto will encounter more road closures as the city launches three construction projects.
York Mills Road from Lesmill to Scarsdale roads will be reduced to two lanes in each direction for bridge repair. The project is expected to run for about 11 weeks.
Richmond Street from Church to York streets will go down to two lanes from Aug. 11 until October for watermain work. A smaller section, from Bay to York streets, will be reduced to one lane from Aug. 13 to Aug. 20.
Also, Yonge Street from The Esplanade to Bloor Street will close one lane in each direction during non-rush hour traffic for the next four weeks for utility cut repairs.
The latest closures come on the heels of the intersection of Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue reopening on Tuesday morning after being completely closed for two weeks for construction.
The Dundas streetcar resumed normal service though the intersection; however, the 510 Spadina streetcar will continue to be replaced by buses until work on TTC platforms is finished on Spadina.
That work should finish by Aug. 31, in time for the rollout of the new streetcars into service on the Spadina route.
The plan originally called for lane closures in the area, but the City said in a tweet those additional closures are no longer needed.
The City of Toronto and the TTC have been doing major construction on watermains, streetcar tracks and switches, roads, and sidewalks in the area since mid-July.
