TORONTO – Academy Award-winning actor Al Pacino will appear on stage for a retrospective of his career at the third annual Toronto International Film Festival gala.

The exclusive charity event will kick off the festival at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on Sept. 3.

An on-stage conversation with the acclaimed actor will be followed by cocktails, musical performances, a live auction and more.

Pacino stars in two films in official selection at the annual movie marathon: “Manglehorn” and “The Humbling.”

The 74-year-old performer has been nominated eight times for Academy Awards and has won once for “Scent of a Woman” in 1992.

Tickets for the exclusive event are $1,500 and limited quantities are available.

Proceeds “enable TIFF to continue creating and inspiring a community of engaged film-lovers, and supporting the careers of emerging filmmakers through a variety of year-round programmes at TIFF Bell Lightbox,” according to a press release.

The Toronto International Film Festival runs Sept. 4 to 14.
