Body of fisherman who tried to save pair swept into lake found by divers

PELICAN POINT, Sask. – Divers in Saskatchewan have found the body of a fisherman who drowned after he tried to save two people, including a young boy, who were swept into a lake during a squall.
The body of 36-year old Travis Kruszelnicki of Regina was found by an underwater recovery team about 10 metres from where he was last seen.
Police say Kruszelnicki, a 38-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy were all fishing near the resort village of Pelican Point on Last Mountain Lake on Friday evening as a storm moved in.
Police say they were standing in the water and that wind from the storm generated waves up to a metre-and-a-half high.
The 38-year-old man and the boy were washed into the lake.
Police say Kruszelnicki had initially made it to shore safety, but went back into the water when he realized the other two had been swept away.
Cpl. Conrad Logan says Kruszelnicki then didn’t make it out of the water, while the man and the boy he was trying to help managed to get out of the lake unharmed.
