Ford’s new campaign video filmed in his office, violates election rules

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s new campaign video was filmed in his office, which is against the rules in the Municipal Elections Act.

The rule states that use of city resources are not allowed, and that includes filming a video inside the mayor’s office.

Ford’s campaign manager and brother Coun. Doug Ford, while not disputing there is such a rule, says he doesn’t see a conflict, because the video shows the mayor in the place where he does the most work.

The video had been posted on YouTube but has since been removed.
