Environment Canada issues weather advisory about potential funnel clouds in Toronto

Environment Canada has issued a weather statement saying conditions will be favourable for development of funnel clouds in regions near the shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, including Toronto.

Funnel clouds of this nature are usually little threat to ground, but could possible develop into a weak landspout tornadoes.

“The wind was strong enough to rock cars, triggering alarms,” said a 680News listener named Dave Turner, who was in the Kipling and Queensway area of Etobicoke.
