More charges laid in police pursuit that ended on Corner Gas movie set

ROULEAU, – New charges have been laid against a 27-year-old woman from Okotoks, Alta., after a police pursuit across southern Saskatchewan that ended on the set of the “Corner Gas” movie.

The chase began when Weyburn RCMP tried to stop a truck that was speeding and being driven erratically, but it instead sped off towards Milestone, Sask., and at one point struck an RV.

After an extensive search involving several police departments, the truck was found abandoned next to the Ruby cafe at the “Corner Gas” set in Rouleau, Sask.

Stephanie Martens was originally charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving and possession of stolen property.

On Tuesday, four more counts of possession of stolen property were added to that list, in relation to licence plates and personal identification.
