Chow, Tory & Ford in dead heat: poll

The top three mayoral candidates are in a statistical tie, according to poll conducted on Monday by Forum Research.

The poll was published in the Toronto Star on Wednesday.

It shows Chow leading in voter support from 29 per cent of respondents, John Tory with 28 per cent, and Mayor Ford in third with 27 per cent. All the results are within the three per cent margin of error, 19 times out of 20.

The numbers show a big change from the last public poll, published almost three weeks ago, which showed that among decided voters Tory led with 39.1 per cent of the vote and Chow in second with 32.7 per cent. Ford trailed with 21.7 per cent.

The numbers represent a slide for the Chow camp, which had held steady with more than 30 per cent of the vote in previous Forum polls.

Torontonians head to the polls on Oct. 27.
