TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (15,094.25, up 63.51 points):

Petrowest Corp. (TSX:PRW). Oil and gas. Up five cents, or 3.70 per cent, to $1.40 on 12.8 million shares.

Eldorado Gold Corp. (TSX:ELD). Miner. Up 44 cents, or 5.76 per cent, to $8.08 on 6.6 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 16 cents, or 3.60 per cent, to $4.29 on six million shares.

Twin Butte Energy Ltd. (TSX:TBE). Oil and gas. Unchanged at $1.77 on 3.5 million shares.

Semafo Inc. (TSX:SMF). Miner. Down six cents, or 1.21 per cent, to $4.89 on 3.3 million shares.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX:LUN). Miner. Up 20 cents, or 3.55 per cent, to $5.83 on 3.2 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (1,022.97, up 9.83 points):

Petroamerica Oil Corp. (TSX:PTA). Oil and gas. Down 2.5 cents, or 7.25 per cent, to 37 cents on 4.1 million shares.

Keek Inc. (TSXV:KEK). Online media. Up 1.5 cents, or 9.38 per cent, to 17.5 cents on 3.1 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

CAE Inc. (TSX:CAE). Aerospace. Down eight cents, or 0.57 per cent, to $13.87 on 1.1 million shares. The Montreal-based flight training and simulator company boosted the compensation of its senior executives last year, including a near doubling of the total payout to chief executive Marc Parent, according to a regulatory filing ahead of its annual meeting. The company says Parent received $4.49 million, up from $2.37 million in 2013. He received nearly $3.04 million in 2012.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Down 37 cents, or 1.45 per cent, to $25.21 on 1.8 million shares. The company is selling its Alberta-based Bighorn natural gas properties to Jupiter Resources for about US$1.8 billion as the Calgary energy producer puts its focus on specific regions for growth.
