Man injured in propane tank fire in North York rail car

A man was injured after a propane tank inside a rail car exploded in North York on Tuesday.

The explosion caused a fire that was quickly extinguished, Toronto fire officials say.

The incident happened at 99 Fenmar Dr., near Weston Road, and is being treated as an industrial accident.

The man injured was a worker trying to put out the fire. It is not clear if he was on or operating the forklift that was attached to the propane tank at the time of the explosion.

He is at a hospital with first-degree and second-degree burns to his arms.
