Tow truck keeps tour bus rolling after vehicle runs off Manitoba highway

By The Canadian Press

SIDNEY, Man. – RCMP are looking for a tour bus and its driver after being told the vehicle loaded with passengers went off a Manitoba highway but resumed its journey after being towed out.

Const. Paul Human (HYOO’-muhn), an RCMP spokesman, says Mounties got word overnight that the eastbound bus had left the Trans-Canada Highway and hit the ditch near Sidney, about 150 kilometres west of Winnipeg.

Human says when officers arrived at the scene, a tow truck had already pulled the vehicle out and the bus had continued its journey.

There were no reports of injuries and the constable says whoever owns the bus had not yet contacted the police.

A witness told Brandon radio station CKLQ that the driver appeared at one point to be trying to reverse the vehicle out of the ditch.

No other vehicles were involved and it’s not immediately known how many people were aboard or where they were headed.
