An exercise rider was killed after being trapped under a horse at Woodbine Racetrack on Tuesday morning.

The man suffered head injuries, according to paramedics.

The horse, Tawney’s Wish, has also died after it suffered a heart attack and bolted into a wooden fence.

Sources told 680News the rider was 42-year-old Murat Budrra of Morocco.

Budrra was exercising Tawney’s Wish for trainer Don Pleterski.

Budrra had been living in Canada for a few years.

He had also exercised horses for well-known trainer Bob Tiller.

Correction: An earlier version of this story said the rider was a jockey. The story has been corrected to reflect he was an exercise rider.
