TTC summer service starts Sunday

The TTC is now operating on its summer schedule, which means less buses and streetcars on some routes and more service to parks, beaches and attractions.

As of Sunday, rush-hour service on busy routes will be down slightly because of lower ridership, but it will be easier to get to Toronto’s waterfront and other popular sights.

Here are some of the changes:
192 Airport Rocket – service increased
172 Cherry Street – service extended to Cherry Beach at most times of the week
511 Bathurst – service increased
110 Islington South – service increased
30 Lambton – route extended into High Park on weekends and holidays
64 Main – service increased
92 Woodbine South – service increased

The TTC will also add new 62-foot articulated diesel buses on the 63 Ossington and 6 Bay routes throughout the summer. With the new buses, fewer vehicles can carry more passengers.

On Saturday, the Davisville bus went out of service after 80 years.
