Shakeil Boothe’s step-grandmother regrets not calling authorities sooner

The father and stepmother of Shakeil Boothe, the 10-year-old boy whose battered body was discovered in a suburban Toronto home were sentenced on Thursday. The boy’s step-grandmother Claudette Boodth says she regrets not calling the authorities sooner. The child’s father Garfield Boothe, was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 18 years. The boy’s stepmother Nichelle Boothe-Rowe, was handed a life sentence with no chance of parole for 13 years.
