TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,604.16, up 15.21 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation. Down nine cents, or 2.38 per cent, to $3.69 on 25.4 million shares. The company said the test flight program for its new CSeries jetliner has been grounded. The move was announced after what Bombardier called “an engine-related incident” on one of the aircraft during ground maintenance testing in Mirabel, north of Montreal.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Up seven cents, or 0.33 per cent, to $21.13 on 8.5 million shares.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up 37 cents, or 4.79 per cent, to $8.09 on 7.8 million shares.

Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Oil and gas. Up five cents, or 0.45 per cent, to $11.20 on 6.3 million shares.

New Gold Inc. (TSX:NGD). Miner. Up 25 cents, or 4.50 per cent, to $5.81 on 5.2 million shares.

Goldcorp Inc. (TSX:G). Miner. Up 46 cents, or 1.84 per cent, to $25.52 on 5.1 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (983.99, up 2.47 points):

Theralase Technologies Inc. (TSXV:TLT). Medical devices. Down seven cents, or 17.07 per cent, to 34 cents on 17.9 million shares.

Petromanas Energy Inc. (TSXV). Oil and gas. Down two cents, or 5.26 per cent, to 36 cents on 2.9 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX:VRX). Health-care. Up $2.23, or 1.65 per cent, to $142.34 on 1.01 million shares. The Montreal-area company has raised its hostile takeover offer for Botox maker Allergan to US$72 in cash and 0.83 shares of Valeant common stock for each Allergan share. That’s up from an offer of US$58.30 and 0.83 of a Valeant share made just days ago. The deal values Allergan at about US$183.25 per share or US$54.5 billion.
