Latest poll shows provincial Liberals & Tories tied at 36% support

Election day is now two weeks away, and a new poll suggests no provincial party has emerged as the frontrunner so far.

The Forum Research survey released Thursday for the Toronto Star says the Liberals and Progressive Conservatives are tied at 36 per cent support.

The poll says the NDP sits at 20 per cent, followed by the Green Party with seven per cent, up from four.

Compared to last week, the Tories have gained two points; the Liberals have lost five; while the NDP remains flat in third place. Talk of a possible coalition between the Liberals and the NDP is getting louder as the Tories gain momentum.

Pollster Lorne Bozinoff told the Toronto Sun that the next big bump will likely take place after next week’s debate.

The debate will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and will be moderated by TVO’s Steve Paikin.
