Bike month kicked off on Monday as cyclists met at Yonge and Charles streets at 7 a.m. to ride as a group down to Nathan Phillips Square for a pancake breakfast. The annual event that started in 1989 and is co-ordinated by Cycle Toronto and supported by the city.
Chow pitches tax hike for transit, Tory gets boost with endorsement
Mayoral candidate Olivia Chow wants to raise the land transfer tax for people with more expensive homes to pay for more transit services. Meanwhile, rival John Tory got a boost Tuesday from a new Nanos poll and an endorsement from Ontario cabinet minister Brad Duguid.
