According to a new study from researchers at Penn State that measured cortisol levels, a biological marker of stress, people feel less stressed in their work lives than home lives.
And women felt the stress at home more acutely than men.
The study authors suggest that rather than taking time off work, employers could help reduce their employees’ overall stress levels by offering more flexible schedules, telecommuting, paid sick leave, and better maternity and paternity leave options.
