Wynne takes another run at Harper while election campaigning in Ottawa

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is taking another run at Prime Minister Stephen Harper as she campaigns for the June provincial election, saying he’s ignoring the needs of Canada’s most populous province.
She also took aim at her rival Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak, who she says won’t stand up to the Harper Conservatives if he becomes premier.
Wynne listed a number of grievances, saying Harper has cut back Ontario’s share of federal transfer money and is ignoring a retirement income crisis — an accusation she made soon after announcing the election last week.
The Liberal leader, who made the comments just a short distance from Parliament Hill, says the federal Tories are also silent on developing the mineral-rich Ring of Fire development in northern Ontario.
Wynne says her prime duty as leader of the province is to advocate for the interests of its residents, even if it means going up against Harper.
But the provincial Tories say Wynne’s attacks are a desperate attempt to change the channel from her own government’s spending scandals and fiscal mismanagement — including a $12.5-billion deficit.
