OPP charge driver in weekend QEW collision

The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man following a multi-vehicle collision on the QEW that killed one person on Sunday.

Five vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction crash in the eastbound lanes, near Cawthra Road in Mississauga.

OPP said a white van triggered the collision after hitting an MTO crash blocker that was behind a disabled SUV.

The driver of that van, Bohdan Doroshyn, 25, from Beeton, has been charged with impaired and dangerous driving causing death. His 30-year-old passenger from Etobicoke, Dmytro Garanin, was killed in the crash.

Police are still looking for any witnesses that have not already come forward.
