4 accused of sexually abusing young girl

Toronto police have revealed the names and photos of two adult brothers accused of sexually abusing a young girl because they fear there could be more victims — especially since one of them may have been a babysitter.

Investigators said Friday the girl was sexually assaulted several times between December 2010 and September 2012, in the east end of Scarborough, when she was four and five years old. She is now seven.

It’s alleged the two men and two boys — all familiar to the girl and known to police — are responsible for the abuse. The two men are accused of assaulting the girl at the same time.

Police said one of the brothers, 43-year-old Raymond Savoie, may have babysat other children at his Scarborough home and are asking parents to come forward if their kids were in his care.

“These potential victims could be very young and don’t know how to speak out for themselves. They may not know that there’s anything wrong. They might not know that this is a bad thing.” Det. Const. Krystal Mosher said at a news conference.

“We would really like a call from parents or people who know that these kids [interacted with Raymond Savoie] so that we can speak to the children ourselves and determine whether or not there has been any harm.”

The suspects were all arrested on April 10 after a four-month investigation.

Raymond Savoie and Michel (Michael) Savoie, 40, were charged with gang sexual assault, sexual assault and sexual interference. Both were released on bail on Tuesday and are due in court on June 3.

The two boys, now 18 and 17, were charged with one count each of sexual assault and sexual interference. They have been free on bail since April 11 and will appear in court on May 25.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (416) 808-2922 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (416) 222-TIPS (8477).
