Rogers TV Cable 10/63 in Toronto/Scarborough is set to debut a new music show that features today’s biggest music stars and brings Toronto’s music scene to the forefront.
On the Mic with Rudy Blair is hosted by 680News’ award-winning music reporter Rudy Blair, alongside co-host Rogers TV’s Liz Stembridge.
It airs at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, and during the show, fans will also be able to ask artists questions.
Some of the guests include Hedley, Cher Lloyd, Classified, James Blunt, Nick Cannon, American Authors, Magic! and Jann Arden.
“The best way to describe On The Mic with Rudy Blair is EntCity meets the New Music,” Blair explains.
“It’s a half-hour show that highlights some of music’s biggest stars.”
It will also showcase the city’s vibrant music scene.
Blair said it will help to “promote some of Toronto’s top acts that have a great following but haven’t had that chance to be interviewed,” such as The Beaches, Daylight for Dead, Eyes and The Lovelocks.
The style of the interviews will be “grass roots,” and conducted in a laid back setting, which speaks to Blair’s personality and friendly rapport with artists.
“What you see is what you get with the artists,” he said.
The interviews will take place either backstage, at a club, in the studio or on the street.
“It’s as real and as urban as you can get,” Blair said.
