A child remains in SickKids hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Scarborough, EMS confirms.
The 12-year-old boy was struck on Danforth Road near St. Clair Avenue East around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Witnesses say the boy got off a TTC bus and tried to cross the street when a silver Hyundai hit him.
“He was actually getting of the bus which was southbound on Danforth and he unfortunately did cross in front of that bus and was struck by a southbound vehicle,” Const. Clint Stibbe said.
Police say the distraught driver remained on scene. So far no charges have been laid.
Stibbe said they have yet to determine if speed was a factor in the crash.
Traffic Services has taken over the investigation.
