Province to put LCBO kiosks in 10 grocery stores

The Liberal government will place 10 LCBO express outlet stores inside large grocery stores across Ontario, Finance Minister Charles Sousa announced Tuesday.
The “pilot project” will include two locations in Toronto, one in the east end and one in the west, as well as outlets in Ottawa, Mississauga, London, and the Niagara regions.
The new stores are expected to be up and running within a year.
“Today, requests for proposals are being launched for large retailers to host these new stores,” Sousa said, adding that the stores would improve consumer convenience and boost sales of Ontario crafts beers and wines.
“Ontario consumers have often asked for more convenient options, and we are listening,” he said.
“The stores will be placed in existing large grocery stores and feature a good selection,” Sousa added.
LCBO staff will be located right within the express stores, Sousa explained.
At least 2,000 square feet for the store is a requirement for selection.
