2 dead after separate stabbings in city's east-end

Two men have died after separate stabbings in the city’s east-end overnight.

Masud Khalif, 28, was found outside a bar in Scarborough suffering from an obvious injury and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

It happened at Markham Bar & Grill on Lawrence Avenue East, near Markham Road, before 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Witnesses reported seeing three suspects fleeing the area.

Meanwhile, police were called to 219 Broadview Ave. around 4 a.m. Saturday after reports of a fight taking place.

Officers found the victim with no vital signs. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim has been identified as Kareem Francis, 33, of Toronto.

Police say 34-year-old Lerone Marcano has been charged with second-degree murder.

Francis’ death is the 13th homicide of 2014.
