Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly spoke to reporters on Friday, saying he will not endorse anyone in the Toronto mayoral race right now. ‘I think all the major contenders are in place. I think it’s going to be a fascinating race, but it’s a marathon, not a sprint, unlike the parliamentary races. In a marathon, anything can happen.’ He said he will not be endorsing anyone right now because he has to focus on city business.

The Diversity Advancement Network hosted a mayoral candidates’ debate Friday night that tackled some of the issues affecting Toronto’s black community, including public housing, education, transit and racial profiling.
