Twitter was down for most people for almost an hour on Tuesday.

The micro-blogging site had posted a message on its status webpage around 2:30 p.m. that said “most users are experiencing issues accessing Twitter on web and mobile apps. We’re looking into it.”

Almost an hour later, Twitter was back up.

At 3:12 p.m., the page was updated with the following message: “during a planned deploy in one of our core services, we experienced unexpected complications that made Twitter unavailable for many users. We rolled back the change as soon as we identified the issue and began a controlled recovery to ensure stability of other parts of the service.”

Meanwhile, some people had fun with it, creating the hashtag #whentwitterwasdown.
