Apple launches iPhone trade-in program in Canada

Apple has brought its existing iPhone trade-in program to Canada, allowing customers to exchange their old devices for store credit.
The phone doesn’t have to be in perfect condition but it does have to be working. The value of the credit can can be as much as $275.
“In addition to helping support the environment, customers will be able to receive a credit for their returned phone that they can use toward the purchase of a new iPhone,” Apple said in a statement on Tuesday.
Both business and personal phones will be accepted.
The iPhone Reuse and Recycling Program launched in Canada on Monday and will supplement the existing recycling program, where customers can bring in old products to be disposed of in a responsible way.
The program will be managed by Brightstar, which will refurbish, redistribute or recycle the old devices. Apple said that while precautions are taken, customers are encouraged to wipe their phones of any personal information before trading them.
The program launched on August 30, 2013 in the United States and is also in France and the United Kingdom.
