Man dies after stabbing at Tibetan centre in Etobicoke

A man in his 30s has died after a stabbing in Etobicoke early Sunday morning.

Police said they got a call before 3:30 a.m. about a large fight at the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre, near Islington Avenue and The Queensway.

Paramedics took the man to St. Michael’s Hospital with a life-threatening chest wound and he died.

Minutes later, officers pulled over a car for speeding near Dixie Road and Queensway East in Mississauga.

They noticed someone in the vehicle had been stabbed and sent him to Trillium Health Centre for treatment. Toronto police seized the car and are investigating the driver.

Officers would like to talk to people who were at the cultural centre or anyone with information.
