Boys of Winter: Canada’s men’s hockey team covers newspapers from coast to coast

From Halifax to Hamilton, Team Canada was on the cover of nearly every Canadian newspaper on Monday morning.

The men’s hockey team won the gold medal in Sochi on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over Sweden, leading to a sea of red (and gold) on newsstands the next morning.

In British Columbia and Winnipeg, homegrown stars took centre stage, with Shea Weber and Jonathan Toews nabbing the respective covers.

The Globe and Mail chose to run nearly no text, instead using a full-page image of the team hugging in front of Carey Price’s net.
