Kimmel lampoons Rob Ford’s spirited reaction to women’s hockey gold

Rob Ford has made no secret of his enthusiasm for sports, coaching football during his mayoralty, wearing a Toronto Argos jersey in council and now this.

When Marie-Philip Poulin scored the game-winning goal in Canada’s final against the U.S. at the Sochi Olympics on Thursday, many watching live in council cheered, but Ford gave it something extra — jumping up and down several times and whooping loudly.

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel had some fun with the mayor’s exuberant reaction on his show.

“The best part of watching the Canadians win: we got to watch Toronto Mayor Rob Ford celebrate,” Kimmel said before replaying a clip of the mayor.

“Isn’t he the cutest?”

Ford has been the butt of jokes on the late-night circuit since last fall when he admitted he had smoked crack cocaine, likely in one of his “drunken stupors.” He also made lewd remarks on live TV and, last month, was caught on video in a rambling, profane rant in Jamaican patois.
