Apparently there were some very anxious “House of Cards” fans who just couldn’t wait to see the political drama’s second season. Peter Nowak was at Netflix’s headquarters in Los Gatos, Calif., to watch the series officially launch in the wee hours of Friday morning and reports it almost instantly became the most popular title on the streaming service.

The less devout fans planned to watch it this weekend, including U.S. President Barack Obama, who urged Twitter users not to spoil it for him. So what are the reviewers saying? Slate says it’s “more ridiculous than ever” and reviewer Willa Paskin says it’s “really designed to be binge-watched, by which I mean consumed so quickly there is no time to taste all the garbage we are guzzling down.”

The Washington Post calls it “darker than ever” and advises fans of the show to watch it ASAP before the web is awash in spoilers. “There’s a shocking moment in the first episode … I’m not going to tell you anything about it, but I defy the Internet to keep its collective yap shut for very long. If you’re a hardcore fan of the show and have built your Valentine’s Day plans around watching it with your snuggle bunny, it might be a good idea to stay offline until you’ve watched the first hour,” writes Hank Stuever.

The Hollywood Reporter says the new season is “a little heavy handed — like last year — but also quite a bit of fun when the tempo moves and Kevin Spacey is killing it, which is frequently.”

But on the bright side, creator Bill Lawrence tells Entertainment Weekly he’s determined to mount a Broadway musical based on the show.

If you’re a diehard “Game of Thrones” fan you’ve probably already watched this. But for everyone else, HBO has released a 14-minute trailer for the upcoming fourth season. Unfortunately, the snippets of new footage fly by with little sense of what’s to come and the interviews with the show’s creators and cast are pretty generic. But fans will still want to watch for the introduction to one of the new characters, Oberyn Martell.
