1 dead, 1 injured in Newmarket stabbing

York Regional Police is investigating after one person was killed and another injured in a double-stabbing in Newmarket.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Davis Drive and Huron Heights Drive for a disturbance around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

They found two men with stab wounds. Both were rushed to hospital were one of them, a 65-year-old man, was pronounced dead.

His name will not be released until his family has been notified, police said.

A second person remains in hospital in critical condition.

Police are now looking for three male suspects and a dark SUV that was seen leaving the area. They are also asking any witnesses to come forward.
