New photo shows Mayor Ford at Vancouver bar

Amanda Ferguson reports on Mayor Rob Ford’s busy Friday.

It began with Ford saying he doesn’t support the raising of the Pride flag during the Olympics, which is being flown on a special events flag pole at city hall in solidarity with the persecuted LGBT community in Russia.

Then someone at the mayor’s office called the police over alleged threats made to Ford and his family, the mayor’s staff told CityNews.

Reports then surfaced on Coun. Sarah Doucette’s twitter that the mayor spent Wednesday night drinking at a bar on Dundas West and allegedly drove himself home.

Ford denied the drinking and driving allegations when asked by CityNews.

“It’s not true. It’s not true at all. She can make all those allegations she wants. I think she retracted them too,” said Ford.

Finally a new photograph surfaced from the mayor’s trip to Vancouver. The image shows Mayor Rob Ford surrounded by beer bottles and full shot glasses.

After images of Ford dancing and partying in Vancouver first surfaced, Ford said he’d only had Coke to drink.

Ford spent Friday evening at the National Restaurant and Banquet Hall near Finch and Dufferin. He was there to support the Russian community.

“They’re putting on the Olympics. They’re doing a phenomenal job. I’m very proud of all the countries. Especially the Canadian athletes that are participating in the games,” Ford told CityNews.

The mayor also took the chance to plug his re-election bid to loud applause and cheers from the crowd.
