The Ministry of Labour is investigating after a man was pinned under a snow plow and died on Friday night.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was found in a parking lot on Viscount Road, near Pearson Airport, just before 7 p.m. His name and age have not been released.

“At this point, it appears that he has become stuck in the box portion of the truck,” Peel regional police Const. Thomas Ruttan told reporters at the scene.

It’s not yet known what happened, Ruttan said, but at this point in the investigation, it doesn’t appear to be criminal.

“What may have taken place, at this point, is under investigation,” he said.

Police said Saturday the man was a snow plow contractor and not an employee of Park & Fly. The name of the company he works for has not been released.
