Police identify man shot and killed on Etobicoke street

Police have identified a 31-year-old Toronto man who was shot and killed on Wednesday.

Officers got a call just before 2 a.m. about the shooting on Scarlettwood Court, near Scarlett Road and Lawrence Avenue West.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Paramedics took him to hospital, where he died later in the day.

Police have identified him as Colin Mohamed.

An autopsy will be done on Thursday.

Police said Wednesday that two men had run up to the victim just before he was shot.

“There was an altercation, at which point there was a single shot fired,” Sgt. Angelo Costa told CityNews.

“Witnesses called us. We’re looking for anybody with information to contact police. At this point we’re not really sure what caused the altercation.”
