1 dead, 2 injured in Niagara Falls crash

One person is dead and two others are injured following a single-vehicle crash in Niagara Falls.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. Monday on the Fort Erie bound QEW just past McLeod Road.

OPP say two males were ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

One of the males was then struck by another vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The other male was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

A female was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to a Hamilton hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are looking for the second vehicle involved and say the vehicle driver may not even know a person was hit but that the vehicle should have some fresh damage. OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford says at this time the second vehicle is considered to be a fail-to-remain.

Weather is not believed to be a factor in the crash at this point, police say but speed is suspected.
