Toronto police are searching for suspects after an armoured car was robbed at Fairview Mall Monday evening.
The truck, belonging to security company G4S, was robbed outside a bank at the mall around 10:30 p.m. An unknown quantity of money was stolen.
Police said the G4S guards were heading into the bank when the robbery attempt took place.
Police say at least one suspect and one guard exchanged gunfire, but there were no injuries.
Two security guards were assigned to the vehicle at the time of the robbery. Neither guard was injured in the incident.
Police say the suspect fled the scene in a silver Dodge Caravan. The vehicle was found on Waddington Crescent, near Van Horne Avenue and Don Mills Road East.
There has been no word on how many suspects were involved. Police have not yet released suspect descriptions.
