Twenty vehicles were involved in a collision on the Toronto-bound QEW at Victoria Street in Beamsville on Thursday afternoon.

Bad weather got part of the blame as there were treacherous white-out conditions.

Part of a tractor-trailer ended up in a ditch and rest of it was spread across several lanes.

The incident happened around 3 p.m., leaving many stranded in their vehicles.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police, there is no information on injuries yet.

Meanwhile, OPP sergeant Dave Woodford said officers are investigating numerous crashes along the QEW between Hamilton and Niagara.

Many described the highways as sheer ice.
