Dozens hurt in London, England, theatre collapse

Dozens were injured when part of a theatre collapsed in London, England, on Thursday, the city’s police force said.

Metropolitan Police responded to the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue around 8:15 p.m. local time, during a performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

They said they weren’t aware of any deaths, but that the investigation was still in its early stages.

Five people were seriously injured and were taken to central London hospitals.

“We believe there are more than 40 walking wounded being treated at Gielgud Theatre. #London bus used to transport wounded to hospital,” police said on Twitter.
