Toronto Mayor Rob Ford handed out candy canes and posed for pictures at the Santa Claus parade in Etobicoke on Saturday.

The Etobicoke Lakeshore Christmas Parade was held from 10 a.m. to noon.

The parade took place along Lake Shore Boulevard West, near Royal York Road. It started at Birmingham and Dwight avenues and ended at Lake Shore and Thirty Sixth Street.

TTC buses and streetcars were on diversion in the area, but have since resumed normal routing.

Ford was asked to stay away from the Toronto Santa Claus Parade a few weeks ago because of an ongoing drug scandal.
