Toronto firefighters battled a fire at a two-storey commercial building near Via Italia around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday. The fire was knocked down by 12:40 a.m. The cause of the fire is not yet known and estimated cost of the damage is $300,000.

Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion said the fire was serious, as the building with filled with canisters. McCallion said that after the 1979 train derailment, firefighters were given the power to inspect buildings.
