Environmental justice activists continue to occupy a construction site in the Leslie and Finch area, some even chained to equipment.
They are protesting against the construction of the Line 9 pipeline.
Amanda Lickers – one of the demonstrators – told 680News why this is so important:
“Even if this action doesn’t go beyond today, it’s completely a victory because it has stopped the construction of the Line 9 pipeline for at least one day,” Lickers explained.
The demonstrators said the national energy board has not approved this portion of the pipeline.
