Man dies following Mississauga stabbing

A man in his 50s has died after he was stabbed at least once in Mississauga.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Rogerson Road near Mavis Road and Matheson Boulevard around 5 p.m. Tuesday where they located the victim.

The man was taken to hospital in critical condition where he later died of his injuries.

Police say a female young person was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

“We do have one person in custody,” Const. Lilly Fitzpatrick said. “We have a young person and by young person I mean somebody under the age of 18.”

Fitzpatrick said that due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act the amount of information they can release on the case is limited.

Police did confirm that there is a familial relationship between the victim and the suspect but would not elaborate.

Homicide has taken over the investigation.
