Police investigate after boy says man tried to pick him up from school

TORONTO – Toronto police have issued a public safety alert after an incident outside of an elementary school in city’s east end.
The incident occurred at Kimberley Junior Public School, located in the Kingston Road and Main Street area.
A 10-year-old boy said he was approached on Nov. 14 by a stranger — a man — who told him his mother had sent him to pick him up from school.
The boy asked the man for his mother’s “code word,” and when he didn’t know it, the man ran off.
Police said he drove off in a green, older model minivan with rust on it.
The suspect is described as:
- Light complexion
- 5’6″-5’8″
- Slim build
- Wearing black pants, a black leather jacket and a black toque
