Fire crews battling house fire in Brampton

Fire crews are battling a residential fire in Brampton Sunday afternoon.

Brampton Fire Services received the call around 1 p.m. regarding a house fire near Williams Parkway and Howden Boulevard.

“When we arrived on scene there was two vehicles on the driveway which were fully engulfed and as well as the home,” says Peel Regional Police Const. George Tudos.

The cause of the fire is still unknown as crews work to extinguish the fire.

“The home owner and one of his pets were outside of the residence, so we believe at this point there is no one else in that residence,” said Tudos.

Police have evacuated some of the nearby homes “just due to the size of the fire and they’re working to ensure that this fire doesn’t spread to the neighbouring homes.”

The roadway closed off as well to vehicles and pedestrians as crews work on putting out the fire.
