A 19-year-old Orillia woman charged in connection with a number of offences involving sex-related charges against children – and involving animals – has been placed in protective custody, the Toronto Sun reports.
Kathryn Thompson made a brief appearance by video in Barrie court Wednesday. She is charged along with 20-year-old Avery Taylor and 22-year-old Shayne Lund.
The Sun says Lund is facing 110 counts including counselling and conspiring to kidnap a child, making and selling child pornography, invitation to sexual touching, voyeurism, sexual assault and bestiality.
The women are each facing 16 similar charges.
There are reports that five alleged child victims have been identified between the ages of two and 10.
The charges are so disturbing that the Crown has given notice that it will be seeking dangerous offender sentences.
