Man, 19, dies after ‘car surfing’ in Brampton

BRAMPTON, Ont. – A 19-year-old man has died of his injuries after falling from a vehicle while “car surfing” in Brampton.

Peel police said he was riding on the trunk of a Honda Civic in a parking lot, in the Father Tobin and Bramalea roads area, at around 2 p.m.

He fell off the vehicle and hit his head on the pavement.

He was taken to a Brampton hospital and then transferred to a trauma centre in Toronto. He died Wednesday night.

Police charged the 16-year-old driver with criminal negligence cause bodily harm and dangerous driving cause bodily harm. Those charges are expected to be upgraded.
