Premier Wynne promising “greater transparency” in the wake of gas plants scandal

Premier Kathleen Wynne is promising Ontarians will have greater transparency with their provincial government in the wake of the Oakville and Mississauga gas plants scandal.

The Toronto Star reports Premier Wynne will establish an “Open Government Engagement Team” that includes former Progressive Conservative MPP Norm Sterling, as well as activists and technology experts.

The Engagement Team is expected to table a report next spring on how to make the government more transparent.

Some of the features expected in the report: how to create an online space to involve Ontarians in government, how to post more government data online, and how to increase transparency across the provincial government.
