Toronto police have updated their information in a sexual assault in the Jane and Finch area.
Originally police had said a woman was sexually assaulted by a man impersonating a cable company employee.
Through further investigation, they found the woman had booked an appointment and was waiting for the cable guy, when she let a man that was in her hallway into her apartment, assuming it was the person she was waiting for.
According to the police, the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon around 3:20 p.m. She was grabbed inappropriately and the man left, but police say the suspect did not pretend to be a cable repairman. According to the police, she then asked him to leave and he did.
Police are still looking for the man involved and urge people not to let anyone into their homes without proper identification.
The suspect is described as male, black, 6’1″ with a stocky build and thin beard. He was wearing a white tee-shirt, black pants and black shoes.
