TORONTO – A 25-year-old Toronto man who was shot in a car in the city’s west end earlier this week died Thursday, police said.
Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Kahivesa Kavenandjamo was talking with his fiancee in a parking lot on Willowridge Road, near Martin Grove Road and Eglinton Avenue West, when he was shot in the head.
“The suspect approached the car and fired shots,” Det. Ted Lioumanis said.
He then ran away in a southwest direction.
Police are looking for the suspect and a motive and are appealing for residents of the complex to come forward.
“There is video surveillance in the immediate area and we are reviewing the tapes,” Lioumanis said.
Kavenandjamo is not known to police.
“He has a couple of years in the country. He is from Namibia…and belongs to a local church. He is very well-respected in the community,” Lioumanis said.
The suspect is a brown man and was wearing a light-grey hooded sweatshirt and a black-and-white bandana over his face.
